Take Your Employees Camping For The Weekend

Posted on

If you have a small business and you want to do something special for your employees, you can take them on a camping trip.  Taking them camping for the weekend is a great way for everyone to get to know each other without the interruptions of modern day life. You can decide to go camping in tents or you can rent some cabins at a camp ground. However, you can further the enjoyment by hiring a charter bus transportation service to drive everyone to and from the camping site. Learn how to set up the camping trip to ensure its success in this article.

Give employees plenty of notice

The more notice you give your employees informing them of the trip, the more employees you will have come. You also need to decide whether or not immediate family is going to be invited. Get a head count of everyone planning on attending and make sure they agree to go on paper. This won't ensure nothing comes up, but people tend to stick to plans better if they have committed to going on paper.

Book reservations well ahead of time

Whether you plan on having everyone camp in tents or in cabins, you want to call and schedule the spaces as soon as you are sure of the dates. This way, you can request to have everyone grouped together instead of spread throughout the campground where everyone is far away and organizing group events is more challenging. Also, make a reservation with the charter bus transportation service ahead of time so you know you are locked in to that date and rate.

Plan meals with the employees

You want to make sure everything is organized and that everyone is fed. Come up with a plan on how this is going to be done. You can purchase all the food yourself, or you can designate each employee to be responsible for some of the food. If you do this, make sure everyone gets a list of what they need to bring and signs a paper in agreement. Don't forget paper plates, cups, utensils and napkins.

Plan activities

Have some activities planned out that everyone can do as a group. The campground may offer activities, such as guided hikes and horseback riding. If they don't then it's up to you. You can choose to play group games, have a nighttime bonfire or even set up a time for a group swim.

Have fun on the charter bus

Getting to your destination in the charter bus can also be part of the excitement. Make sure you bring some exciting DVD's everyone can watch on the bus. If the charter bus allows cocktails on board, then you may want to serve some mixed drinks to lighten the mood. Charis Enterprises LLC and other similar companies offer corporate transportation for occasions such as these.

Taking your employees on a camping trip can be a lot of fun and it can help bridge gaps between employees who don't always work well together.
